Hello!
I am Elisa Bonora, professional freelance translator and editor working from English and Spanish into Italian, my native language.
I hold a 4-year Master's Degree in Translation from the renowned SSLMIT (Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators, Forlì, University of Bologna) and I run my own boutique business Millefolia Translations, handling all projects personally.
I have always had a creative outlook and enjoyed exploring the hues of words by reading and writing, picking up English and using it on a daily basis from a very early age.
My formal education is mainly linguistic. In addition, I have been involved with classical and modern music all my life, and I also have a strong background in natural sciences, wildlife and the environment, which I actively support.
I am committed to a green lifestyle and I am a proud vegetarian.
I have a long-standing experience as a translator, editor/proofreader and linguistic consultant in the publishing industry, but my happy customer base also includes companies and individuals. This has honed my skills both working in a team and independently.
And I never stop learning! I am committed to continuing professional development to keep my linguistic, subject-matter and business skills up to date and to keep pace with the translation industry. Webinars, conferences and daily readings in all my working languages, travelling, networking with colleagues
and subject-matter experts are part of my professional practice.
I believe that communication makes all the difference in the world and I pride myself on providing excellent Italian translation, editing, and language consulting with a smile.
Samples of my work and continuing professional development are available upon request.
